The Wayne Westland Salvation Army provides financial assistance programs for residents of Wayne, Westland, Inkster, Romulus, and New Boston.
All assistance is provided by appointment only. Please call (734)722-3660 to set up an appoinment with our caring ministries case worker.
Caring Ministries is what we have come to call our social services department. The reason is because we care about our clients and wish to minister to them on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Here at The Salvation Army we view our service as a holistic remedy.
Monday - Friday 8:30-12:00; 1:00 - 4:30.
All of our assistance programs require verification of income and household members. Please be sure to ask the case worker what you will need to bring to your first appointment.
Generally speaking the follwing minimum documentation is required:
- State Issued ID/Driver's License for all household members over 18
- Proof of ALL income
- Decision notice from Department of Human Services
- Social Security Card for all household members
- Shut off notice (for utility assistance)
- Eviction notice & lease agreement (rental assistance)
- Food Pantry
- Utility Assistance
- Rent/Mortgage Assistance
- Clothing Assistance
- Furniture Assistance
- Holiday Assistance
All assistance programs are based upon the availability of funding. All applicants must meet residency and income guidelines in order to receive assistance. Please contact our caring ministries case worker for current availablity of assistance and for details on how to qualify.
