The Salvation Army is known across the world for the good works that we do to help meet the needs of those in need. We help people struggling with addiction, victims of disasters, people that are unsure of where their next meal is coming from, the homeless, and those who are facing a utility being shut off or being evicted from their home. Here in the Wayne-Westland area, we provide assistance over a thousand families each year in meeting these basic needs. The assistance that we are able to provide is available to residents of Wayne, Westland, Inkster, Romulus and New Boston.
Most people know our good works, but many do not know the motivation behind our actions. The reason we spend so much energy on helping others is because we are motivated by the love and example of Jesus Christ. The Salvation Army is first and foremost a church and the good works we do flow out of a calling we have as Christians to serve those in need.
In addition to our social service programs, we have a full range of church programs that can provide for your spiritual needs. We have Sunday School and Sunday Worship, weekly Bible Study, men's and women's groups, a teen group, and Christian-based Character Building groups that are similar to the Boy and Girl Scouts. We are a multi-generational and multi-ethnic congregation that reflects not only the diversity of our community, but of God's family.
