A sincere "thank you" to the community for the care, concern, and generosity shown to needy people this past Christmas. You truly made a difference in the lives of the thousands who came to The Salvation Army for assistance.
Thanks to many schools, churches, and businesses, the Dick Goff Memorial Food for the Needy Drive enabled us to provide Christmas food boxes to 3,246 households and will sustain our Pantry for several months. A record-breaking Twelve Hours of Salvation Toy Drive at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, coupled with The Salvation Army Giving Tree at CherryVale Mall, allowed for 14,708 toys to be distributed to 4,020 children. An additional 700 children received toys through the Jail Toy Wrap Program. Generous sponsors adopted 180 families. Contributions totaled $512,565.53 through the Red Kettles and other donations. Hundreds of volunteers logged an all-time high of 9,633 hours.
The help The Salvation Army provides at Christmas and throughout the year is a direct reflection on the generosity of the residents of Winnebago County. Thank you for helping us show God's love through your gifts of time, food, money and more. We are truly grateful, as are the people we serve.
